Te Taiao. The ground beneath us.
Whenua carries place, whakapapa and belonging. Te moana holds the horizon of possibility. The whare gives us four ways to care for wellbeing; the environment around it matters too.
You might notice the sky from a window, visit a familiar place or share a memory of home. Access, weather and mobility differ. Connection does not require a long walk or a purchase.
A balanced waka
Across life, a waka gives us a way to think about movement and balance. Who would you like alongside you? What load can be shared? This is a site metaphor, not an attributed whakataukī or a replacement for Sir Mason Durie’s Te Whare Tapa Whā.
